Who We Are

Haugen Consulting LLC was established in 1995. Over the years, in addition to achieving significant demurrage savings, Haugen Consulting’s business has evolved to include additional value-added services such as third party demurrage rebilling and maximizing collection; contract review; and, vessel time charter performance tracking. Since 1995, Haugen Consulting continues to achieve positive bottom-line results. The long-term business relationships enjoyed with our clients is self-evident of Haugen’s high performance standards.

 

Our Haugen Consulting Team:

Brendan Hoffman, Chief Executive Officer

Brendan joined Haugen Consulting (HC) in 2002.  Brendan’s expertise results from a unique range of experiences including: operating as in-house demurrage consultant to both BP Shipping in Chicago and STUSCO in Houston, operating as account manager for numerous cornerstone clients, and continuously developing and presenting HC’s training courses worldwide. Brendan launched the HC Houston office in 2005.   In 2012, Brendan transitioned to Shell to help manage its Demurrage Americas department where amongst other accomplishments he further increased his global awareness by working in Shell’s Houston, Barbados, London, and Rotterdam offices before ultimately returning to HC in 2015.  Brendan was educated at Haverford College in Pennsylvania.

Tom Haugen, Vice President

Tom formally joined Haugen Consulting in 2012, but his involvement began in 1996 when he was helping his mom and Haugen Consulting’s founder, Kathy Haugen, seal TANKVOYager newsletter envelopes around the dinner table. Tom’s experience grows from his time as an in-house demurrage consultant for a global trading firm, his assistance with managing HC’s Houston office, and his expansive research for HC’s TANKVOYager’s demurrage articles.  Tom is the Account Manager for several cornerstone clients. Tom graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Aerospace Engineering.

John Callendrello, Rail & Truck Logistics / Senior Demurrage Analyst

John joined Haugen Consulting in 2015. John excels in his wide range of responsibilities including vetting vessels for clients, rail and truck scheduling, and demurrage analysis. John has additional experience in warehouse operations. John graduated from the University of Houston Bauer College of Business with a degree in Supply Chain Management.

Ethan Fitzgerald, Senior Demurrage Analyst

Ethan joined Haugen Consulting in 2015. Along with extensive experience as a demurrage analyst, Ethan brings an enthusiasm for exceeding expectations and building lasting relationships to this role. His positive outlook and competitive nature serve him well both in and out of the office. Ethan is actively involved in industry organizations and enjoys spending the time meeting new people and relating on a personal level. Ethan graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Economics.

Zachary Cross, Team Lead – Rail and Truck Logistics

Zach joined Haugen Consulting in 2017. His current role at HC allows for him to lead a rail and truck logistics team. Zach has additional experience as a Purchasing Assistant. Zach graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Economics while simultaneously earning minor degrees in Business Foundations and Purchasing.

Tyler Reichel, Rail and Truck Logistics Analyst

Tyler joined Haugen Consulting in 2017.  His responsibilities include rail and truck scheduling.  Tyler graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Maritime Administration and a minor in Economics.
